Since memory leaks were discovered (see https://lab.nexedi.com/nexedi/pygolang/-/merge_requests/24) we will likely need to do a release with leak fixes before my finalization of bstr work.
Start to prepare to that and extract some fixup patches from my bstr queue with fixes to post 0.1 regressions and other discovered bugs.
Most notable are the fix for UCS2 build and the fix for gpython -X gpython.runtime=... inheritance in spawned subprocesses.
